A symposium titled "Materials for Energy, Environment, and Health-care Applications" was successfully organized on February 18, 2026, by Dr. R. Karthick of KGISL Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Heriot-Watt University and the ANEH Scientific Foundation. Held at the IQAC Board Room, the programme focused on the vital role of electrochemistry in water management and biological sciences.
The event featured insightful presentations by Dr. Yuvaraj Sivalingam on nano-biosensing innovations, Dr. Sudhagar Pitchaimuthu on translating laboratory research into market-ready prototypes, and Mr. Jeyannathan Karunanithi, who highlighted electrochemistry's role in simplifying industrial processes.
The symposium greatly benefited faculty members from the Departments of Chemistry and Physics, strengthening understanding of the interdisciplinary applications of materials science and electrochemistry.
