









About the Department
Life and nature around inspire creativity, which the Department of Visual Communication at KG College of Arts and Science brings to the curriculum, providing a real-world educational experience. The curriculum explores intensive production in the areas of Art, Design, Photography, Film Production, Television Programme Production, Animation, Sound Production, and other media production.
Graduates of the Visual Communication programme will develop skills to design websites, create digital and print posters, design game layouts, visualize using 2D/3D technology and handle various departments of filmmaking; which in short opens careers in advertising, digital marketing, technology and movies. The on-campus animation industry gives students early exposure to the latest tools and techniques in the animation industry as well as career opportunities.

As a multi-disciplinary creative professional, Dr. Charles enjoys being an Artist, Designer, Musician, and Teacher at the same time. What drives him after a decade of industry experience is his unending curiosity and commitment to the creative process. His strong and sustained association with the Tamil film industry continues to enrich his teaching practice, offering students valuable industry exposure and opportunities for professional growth.

About the Industry Partner — FrameBoxx / JD Education & Training
FrameBoxx and JD Education & Training are among India's most respected creative education institutions, with decades of experience in animation, VFX, game development, UI/UX, and digital media training. Their trainers are working creative professionals — animators, 3D artists, Unity developers, and VFX compositors — who bring live production pipelines and professional quality standards into every session. Through their partnership with KGCAS, they deliver the full B.Sc. Visual Communications curriculum across six structured semesters, culminating in a professionally produced showreel and dedicated placement support.
About The Creative Design & Immersion Lab
A dedicated, industry-powered lab at KGCAS exclusively for B.Sc. Visual Communications students, run entirely by FrameBoxx / JD industry professionals. Students progress through the full creative production pipeline — from digital design and 2D animation through 3D modelling, game and AR/VR development, and motion graphics — using Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate CC, Autodesk Maya, Unity, and After Effects, culminating in a professionally produced showreel and dedicated placement support.
