Dr. S. Mahendran is an accomplished academician and administrator with over 28 years of experience in higher education, specializing in Business, Finance, Accounts, and Taxation. He has held key leadership roles including Principal and Head of the Department in reputed institutions. A PhD holder with NET, TNSET, MBA, and M.Com qualifications, he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic governance. Dr. Mahendran is a recipient of prestigious awards such as the NPTEL Topper Award (2025) and Best Faculty Award (2024), has published extensively in UGC-care and international journals, and holds a published patent in logistics and IoT-based performance assessment. He is actively involved in university statutory bodies, boards of studies, examination administration, and serves as an editor and life member of professional associations, reflecting his strong commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.
The vision of the department is to bring a holistic approach in media education which centers on the value of creativity added with techniques and aesthetics, encourages problem solving, creative thinking and critical analysis.
