The Department of Commerce with Information Technology organized a Guest Lecture under the department association Unicorn ’25 on 23/09/2025, titled “An Essential Practical Insights on GST and Income Tax.” The objective of the programme was to provide students with practical understanding of India’s taxation system by bridging the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications, particularly in GST and Income Tax compliance, filing procedures, and tax planning. The session was delivered by CA. B. Nalin Kumar, Chartered Accountant, Jay Jay Mills India Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, and was attended by 78 students. The lecture enabled participants to gain clarity on tax structures, compliance requirements, and due dates, while also helping them understand the impact of taxation on business operations and financial decision-making. Overall, the session enhanced students’ confidence in handling practical taxation matters, avoiding common errors, and making informed and responsible financial decisions.
