About the Department

The Department of Computer Science with Cyber Security at KG College of Arts & Science opened its doors to students in 2025. It is dedicated to nurturing future-ready professionals who can navigate the complex digital landscape with technical proficiency and ethical integrity. Dr M Srisankar

Recipient of Best Faculty Award – 2024 for excellence in teaching and research

Dr. M. Srisankar is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science with Cyber Security. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and specializes in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Mining. He has published 6 research papers in international journals. He holds 4 granted/published patents in the areas of AI-based healthcare, smart irrigation, cancer prediction, and soil classification. He has participated in and presented research papers in 5+ national and international conferences/FDPs.

About the Industry Partner — BlackPerl Academy

BlackPerl Academy is a specialist cybersecurity training organisation operating exclusively within the security domain. Their trainers are active professionals with hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, digital forensics, and incident response — teaching from the field, not the textbook. Through their partnership with the Department of CS (Cybersecurity) at KGCAS, BlackPerl deploys dedicated industry trainers across four active semesters, followed by internship facilitation and placement support in Semesters V and VI.

About the Cybersecurity Lab

A dedicated, industry-powered training environment at KGCAS, exclusively for B.Sc. CS (Cybersecurity) students, run entirely by BlackPerl industry experts. Students progress through networking foundations, Linux, ethical hacking, network security, and cyber forensics — with embedded CTF challenges, red/blue team exercises, and forensic investigations throughout, culminating in an industry internship and dedicated placement support.
